Operations chain Update
Introducing Operations Chains - the new improved mission set that results in the very best gear in the game!
Operations chains consist of five (5) missions, each increasing in both difficulty and reward. During your journey through an operation chain, you will be able to choose debuffs and buffs:
Debuffs:
Before each mission, you will be able to be pick from a set of two debuffs that will either make you weaker or make the enemy stronger. Debuffs can range from immunity to certain damage types to extra fleets of enemies spawning every wave. Debuffs will follow you throughout your playthrough. Once per mission, you can reroll a single debuff of your choosing, but be careful as it will give you a completely random debuff.
Along with selecting debuffs, the mission associated with the debuff will take place in different locations and hold different hazards.
Buffs:
After completing a mission, you will be able to select from 3 buffs that will benefit you in some way. This can range from providing an instant respawn extra life to dropping extra tech card and money from slain enemies. Buffs will also follow you throughout the operation chain.
Operation chains can be accepted from the mission board after fully completing a planet - i.e., finishing the final boss fight for that planet. Only one chain mission per planet may be active at a time. Operation chains may be canceled by aborting the mission via the red x in the top right corner of the mission select screen. During a mission, you may retry as many times as you'd like, but abandoning the mission will abort the entire operation chain.

New Gameplay:
- Operation chain missions added
- Enemies that warp in will now always have an outline to display where they will warp to
- Limit of 10 pilots (characters/saves) per account
- Limit of 7 side missions accepted per planet
Balance:
- Warp in fleet encounters no longer occur on early Lunar side missions
- Nanites smoothly repair hull over time instead of in bursts
- Increased length of boss fight missions
- Increased amount of targets and spread on assassinate missions to make them a more appropriate length
- Increased wingmen special damage
- Legendary rewards always have legendary reward items and only legendary reward items (or many blueprints)
- It is now possible to earn ACE rewards for a mission as long as no enemy passes you while you haven't won the mission; once "Mission Accomplished" appears, you are no longer responsible for enemies that slip by
Bug Fixes:
- Smart cannon is now better optimized for better performance
- Initial basic gatling cannons now show the correct DPS number on the ship modifications screen
- Endless missions played after flying loadout tryout missions will now correctly provide rewards
- Enemies should no longer linger on the screen edges just out of shooting range
- Enemy mercenary now show the shield on top of their armor health bar correctly
- Shield steal now works for Tesla Cannon
- Penetrate mod now shows red and cannot be installed on Tesla Cannon
- Shield steal now shows stats on item card
- Warzone friendly reinforcements no longer target barrier satellite drone shields
- Solar flares now occur randomly on all surface missions
- Enemy directional warning now shows up correctly for enemies approaching the screen
- Fixed messages on mission HUD doubling up or canceling eachother out
- Various stability fixes
